The armour look like mustache and beard.
Because =Olovni mentioned it looks like moustache. And my dear drew moustache on him... So i think everyone got the hint i guess. And since he is the spacewolf... and no spacewolf is complete without his hair, and it just so happens that stor... vega cant grow facial hair, so he has specially crafted armour to compensate for his lack of facial hair.
